Title: | Tra documenti e dati. L'evoluzione e il ruolo delle collezioni digitali nelle biblioteche. | Authors: | Meschini, Federico | Journal: | BIBLIOTECHE OGGI | Issue Date: | 2022 | Abstract: | This article presents a review and in-depth analysis of the book Le raccolte bibliotecarie digitali nella società dei dati by Rossana Morriello. Published in 2020, this volume highlights the relevance of digital collections in academic libraries. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the importance of digital collections has increased and extended to public libraries as well. The five chapters in Morriello’s book examine history, typologies, critical issues and opportunities of digital collections. Concluding remarks address librarians, their role and competences, and the necessity to evolve in order to adapt to this highly complex and changing scenario. |
