La produzione statunitense ha sempre mostrato uno speciale rapporto con questo sottogenere di cinema storico anche per la particolare reticenza ad affrontare il discorso sull'evoluzione romana da repubblica ad impero: essa infatti sembrava e sembra prefigurare in qualche maniera la parabola degli stessi Stati Uniti. |
