Abstract
The forests are a very important component of environment in Albania considering the fact that they occupy more then 1.031.000 ha of the country equal to 36% of its surface, and nearly 47% of the total wood volume is composed by Fagus sylvatica , the most representative specie that is governed in 90 % of the total beech surface as high forests. The beech forests in Albania are situated in very inclined areas. Taking in account this facts studding the silviculture and utilization of this forest in different Albanian realities could be of high interest to establish new preservation and development methodologies. It is very important, for the future, to evaluate the right silvicultural intervention, and new utilization methodologies, in this forests considering the fact that the past experience has been not very generous. A very appreciated help s been the possibility given by this doctorate to compare two Albanian sites with two Italian ones utilized with a sustainable silviculture. During the developed work, dates regarding working times has been collected, having a special attention to the time-out , especially in Albania when those avoidable are elevated. It is very important to build strategies for their diminution. The considered sites in Italy as been two, one governed as high forest and the other as coppice, situated on Monte Amiata. Diverse utilization methodologies of beech has been studied like felling, preparation, transport with tractor and forest winch, tractor and forest trailer, load tractor, air cables with movable station, compared with Albanian ones when the 6 transport was effectuated with mules, free terrain sinking and traditional air cables that need 10-15 working days for mounting and demounting. Is also considered of interest the evaluation of productivities of different work phases to evidence the foibles to correct in Albania. It has to be stressed the fact that the security during the work in both cases is nonobservant even though it is very important to be respected. This study has effectuated surveys also for the actual Albanian accessibility that is very scarce and needs maintenance. This affects a lot the productivities that are very low because the workers need a lot of time to rich the working place (nearly 3-4 hours). The real productivities are nearly the half or sometimes more then the half of the productivities that used to be or could be potentially if the suitable infrastructure existed like in other European Countries.
