Abstract
The article focus on two marble epigraphs and their translation preserved in the Capitoline Museums: the first one pertinent to King Jan III Sobieski, and the second one dedicated to his wife Maria Casimira. The analysis concern also other iconographic and documentary material related to the Sobieski in Rome conserved in the archival heritage of the Sovrintendenza Capitolina, some of which are unpublished.
