Abstract
Agriculture is the productive sector that uses most of the available water resource. In recent years, this has often ended up threatening the availability of agriculture, diverting the satisfaction of irrigation needs, especially in agricultural arid and semi-arid, on water supplies and worsening the quality levels. The reuse of wastewater in agriculture can be considered to supplement the water availability for agriculture and limit the withdrawals borne by quality resources. The work was based on an econometric analysis that aimed to evaluate the characteristics of the demand for irrigation water expressed by the agricultural sector in the Capitanata area to understand if the treated wastewater should be used to increase water availability consortiums, extending the network to minimize irrigation by farms from wells; or, if they should be used to replace valuable water sources currently used for irrigation, without favoring the possible expansion of irrigation in the area.
