Abstract
In 2006 Time Magazine celebrated as Man of the Year "You", thus indicating all the WorldWideWeb users that cooperated and helped in shaping the form of the new "Web 2.0". But what has been the evolution of the Web from the original project of Tim Berners-Lee, in the early nineties at CERN, to his current configuration? And what is the relationship between the Semantic Web, Berners-Lee's next vision, and Web 2.0? Are they totally unrelated or some form of cooperation is possible, and what could be the results of this interaction? Scientific and Academic publishing is aware of this technologies and is already using them in their applications, to deliver electronic contents in new and most pervasive ways. eContent is no more what it used to be, but while waiting to become semantic it has suddendly been upgraded to version 2.0.
