Abstract
The tuning of method of the mechanized harvesting of hazelnuts in the province
of Cuneo, was addressed to the improvement of the safety conditions of the operator.
Surveys have been conducted on experimental exposure of the operators to dust and
noise, whose values were detected and compared with those of the years 2006 - 2007
have confirmed the need to wear personal protective equipment. To increase yields, and
lower production costs, it has been suggested a hazelnut type capable of increasing
mechanization, which also features the installation of a drip irrigation system localized
views, especially of the Alta Langa, the seasons always driest. On these bases was then
developed a system of mechanized harvesting defined before with the use of existing
harvesting machines gathering machines, and then providing in the near future the use
of machines cabin can also protect the operator from injury and with low entry of dust
into the environment. It is also formulated a hypothesis of possible future development
of harvesting robot characterized by the implementation of technologies already in use
in precision agriculture.
