Abstract
The recycled aggregates sector, resulting from the recovery and recycling of construction and demolition waste (CDW), plays a key role in the application of circular economy models, but its market struggles to develop, due to spatial-temporal asymmetries.
In this context, the use of AI-based services can offer innovative solutions for a more sustainable management but the literature on this subject is still heterogeneous and lacks a multidisciplinary vision that brings together several research strands. Therefore, the aim of the paper is to outline the state of the art of research, systematically organising the knowledge gained and to identify potential areas for future research based on the gaps that have emerged.
