Abstract
The aim of this PhD thesis is to retrace the steps that led to the accreditation from the National Agency for Regional Health Services (hereinafter AGENS) of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry (hereinafter DAFNE) University of Tuscia. The decision to accredit DAFNE was linked to the importance of equipping the department with a structure that could provide Continuing Medical Education (CME below). The accreditation is intended to define the minimum requirements and related standards deemed necessary for the institutional accreditation of public and private entities (referred to as "providers") who intend to organize programs and educational events for Continuing Medical Education (CME) health professionals in Italy (e.g. Doctors, Veterinarians Biologists Prevention Technicians etc.). It therefore constitutes a tool to be shared throughout the country in order to harmonize the conduct of the various parties involved and promote effective multi-polar development of the ECM system. The requirements relate in particular to the characteristics of the subjects, their organization and the qualitative aspects in the training courses and independence from commercial interests. The documentation for accreditation has been submitted to the National Commission for Continuing Education (hereinafter CNFC) which after a careful check on compliance of the standards issued the requested accreditation.
