Abstract
The paper was presented in 2013, November, 7th, as the first plea in the jubilee for «350 years of the Biblioteca comunale di Como, 1663-2013», organized by Chiara Milani, librarian in that library. It presents and discusses a set of 15 topics, which include quotations from poets and novelists, and pictures - too - dealing with reading (private and public) and libraries of various kinds.
