Abstract
Il testo della Iohannis di Corippo, tramandato da un codex unicus, il Trivultianus 686 di XIV sec., e oggi letto nell’edizione curata da James Diggle e Francis Richard David Goodyear (Cambridge 1970), presenta molteplici problemi testuali ed esegetici e nasconde ancora numerosi passi corrotti, sui quali può gettare luce, in modo talvolta risolutivo, il riconoscimento dei modelli, non solo epici, che l’ampia cultura letteraria dell’autore riusa e trasforma. Nel contributo vengono presi in esame alcuni passi problematici della praefatio in distici elegiaci al poema (Ioh. praef. 5 sg, 13 sg., 17 sg.) e di IV 249, per i quali si propongono restauri congetturali. The text of Corippus’ Iohannis, handed down by a codex unicus, the 14th century Trivultianus 686, and now read in the edition by James Diggle and Francis Richard David Goodyear (Cambridge 1970), shows multiple textual and exegetical problems and still hides many corrupt passages on which the recognition of models, not only epic, that the author’s wide literary culture reuses and transforms, can shed light, sometimes in a decisive way. This paper examines some problematic passages of the praefatio to the poem in elegiac couplets (Ioh. praef. 5 f., 13 f., 17 f.) and of IV 249, for which conjectural restorations are proposed.
