Abstract
The wide range of possibilities offered by 3D design software has stimulated interest in archaeological studies in which the communication and dissemination of data acquired through scientific research through the image is fundamental. The study of an ancient structure must not be without a rigorous scientific approach, otherwise the whole work would be reduced to a mere exercise in computer graphics. The reconstruction of the northern furnace of Mugnano in Teverina (Viterbo) is therefore exclusively aimed at understanding the constructive, formal and functional solutions ofthe production plant. The results obtained represent the result of a graphic synthesis work, between literature data and evidence found in situ, functionalexclusively tothe estimationofthe bessali produced at each batch in the Roman furnace ot the Domitii and at the time necessary tor their implementation.
