Abstract
After having fallen into oblivion for a short period, the name of Bruno reappears in France among autors as different form each other as Gabriel Naudé and Marin Mersenne. For both, the Italian philosopher can be assimilated to other founders of Libertinism, on account of his interpretation of religious phenomena. Nevertless, in the second half of the seventeenth century, the impact of Bruno's Thought becomes attenuated. Hence his name is used like a polemical instrument and his theses come to be inserted in molds created for the interpretation of others philosophers. Thus Pierre Bayle will point out similarities between the monism of 'De la causa' and that of Spinoza. His analysis will convince many of his contemporaries, thus consecrating an association that will remain up until the 'Encyclopédie'.
