Abstract
This volume constitutes one of the first systematic inquiries into Italian
experimental and avant-garde cinema in the English language. Written by
an array of Italian and international experts in the history and theory of
experimental audio-visual work, it is focused on the Italian underground
experience and presents a history of the Italian experimental moving image
as a far more spontaneous development than most other critical histories
would lead us to believe.
