Abstract
The present paper shall tackle the issue of domestic space at the Eastern Anatolian site of Arslantepe, from the beginning of the Late Chalcolithic to the end of the Bronze Age, with the intent of evaluating how private life reflects and adapts to societal and economic organization. By presenting a comparison over a long period of time encompassing at least three millennia, during which major changes in the political and economic history of the region took place, we shall take into consideration construction techniques, plans of houses and internal circulation, the position and organization of activity areas, and indicate to what extent these reflect more general aspects of community organisation, as degrees of sedentarisation, and varying relationships between domestic units.
