Abstract
ABSTRACT: This paper is divided into two sections. The first reflects on the theoretical outlines of grammar within language teaching, pro- posing a synthesis aligned with contemporary models of linguistic creativity. The second section considers students’ perception of grammar in the classroom, its role in the creation of meaning, and its theoretical conception in the training of future teachers. From the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR 2001, 2020) onwards, the concept of language competence has be- come theoretically inseparable from general and language skills, including sociolinguistic, pragmatic, linguistic and generically gram- matical skills. It is therefore urgent, for today’s students and for future generations of teachers, to understand the creative nature of grammar at a theoretical level, so that teaching strategies meet the expectations of students and balance the linguistic form within an action-oriented didactic approach.
