Abstract
This work deals with the problem of hazelnut harvesting in the uncomfortable areas and
scope suggesting as a solution the “mechanization” through the project and the
production o fan innovative aspirator machine, reduced in size, for hazelnut picking.
The experimental research has been realized both in Piedmont, in the Langhe area in the
province of Cuneo, and in Sicily in the park of Nebrodi, where picking tests have been
carried out to determine the working capacity of the machinery.
The tests have revealed excellent behaviours according to the orography of the areas
and fairly good working capacities of the prototype.
The introductory section describes the process of hazel growing, concerning mainly the
Sicilian ares, the second one analyses the mechanization of the hazel, the third one
displays the experimental survey of the realization of the prototype of picker
