Abstract
This work intends to focus and contextualize the modus scribendi of
Salas Barbadillo considering the presence of verses inserted in his production
in prose. In spite of being known especially as a novelist, Salas Barbadillo’s
works, characterized by hybridity and a desire for experimentation that critics
have already studied, can be analyzed through some secondary elements, especially
focusing on versification and the framework in which it is produced.
In particular, it will be examined an interlude present in the second part
of El Caballero Punctual (1619), La Lonja de San Felipe, which is very
representative of the will and the literary work of the author.
