Abstract
The research delineates the resumption of Italian emigration in Europe between 1945 and 1957. The chief subjects are the public politics elaborated by Italian institutions to administer this new emigration. Beginning, the statistic dimension and debate between historians are pointed out. The debate is connected with second world war, European integration, post-war reconstruction, the politic size of the matters. In the next part, the new migration politics are probed, discussing their origin and enforcement, the position of the social and political organizations and the evolutions of public institutions that admninistrated the emigration. Afterwards, the “organizational engine” is pointed out, describing the activities of the local offices of Italian Ministry of Labour, like labour offices and emigration centres. In the last part, the origins and evolution of emigration bilateral agreements are delineated, describing agreements between Italy and France, Switzerland, Belgium, United Kingdom, Czechoslovakia and West Germany.
