Abstract
Amongst the major leading politicians of the historical Italian Republic known as “centrosinistra” surly we must remember Pietro Nenni. After the break – up of the agreement act with the P.C.I., the P.S.I. from him conducted enters organically in government by the end of 1963. After mentioning the causes that in some way favor the entrance of the P.S.I. in the guidance of the country (the necessity to handle the economical growth after the economical boom of the previous decade, the favourable appreciation of Pope John XXIII e John F. Kennedy in the perspective of the process of international détente which went consolidating), this work has the purpose to study the political action of Nenni in the double vest of Secretary and undisputed leader of the party and, in fact, man of government. Threw a chronological path and without neglecting the human aspect, there is the analysis of his political choices highlighting the faults and the merit, the defeats and the successes.
