Abstract
La colonna sonora per il film Alexandr Nevskij nasce dalla collaborazione, realizzata nella pienezza di una comune visione artistica, tra due geni, Prokof'ev e Eisenstein. Il film del 1938, caratterizzato da un prepotente messaggio politico ideologico, può configurarsi come un capolavoro epico-corale inserito nel contesto storico in cui i due artisti hanno operato. La musica di Prokof'ev si adatta perfettamente alle intuizioni cinematografiche del regista caratterizzate dall'uso dissonante del montaggio e dalle inquadrature frammentarie, attraverso la dissoluzione del linguaggio tonale, la vivacità del contrappunto e l'efficacia della strumentazione. Mentre nel film le musiche sono realizzate in funzione delle immagini, dei gesti e delle atmosfere, avulsa dal contesto cinematografico la colonna sonora di Prokof'ev si trasforma in una vera e propria Suite sinfonica che prende il nome di Cantata su Alexandr Nevskij, un'opera da eseguire in concerto che assume toni cameristici e sinfonici, e costituisce un'importante tappa nell'iter compositivo del musicista russo.
The soundtrtack for the film Alexandr Nevskij, is a collaboration, made in the fullness of a common artistic vision of two genius, Prokof'ev and Eisestein. The film of 1936, characterized by an overbearing political-ideological message, may take a form of an epic-choral masterpiece inserted in the historical context in which the two artists have worked.
The music of Prokof'ev fits perfectely to the cinematographic insights of the director , characterized by the dissonant use of the editing and fragmentary framing, trough the dissolution of the tonal language, the vivacity of the counterpoint and the effectiveness of the instrumentation. While the music in the film is made according to images, gestures and atmospheres, taken out of cinematographic context, the soundtrack of Prokof'ev is transformed into a veritable symphonic suite that takes the name of Cantata about "Alexandr Nevskij", a work to perform in concert that takes chamber and symphonic tunes, and constitutes an important stage in the compositional iterate of the Russian musician.
