| Abstract: | This paper deals with the use of social networks and of applications belonging to the so-called web 2.0 as tools for scholarly research. The paper is divided in two main sections: 1) what is web 2.0, and 2) which activities and tools might be considered as the most relevant in this context from the point of view of academic research.
