| Abstract: | Chapter one of a book devoted to Father Giacinto da Vetralla, the first missionary who wrote a grammar on an African language (kikongo) in the 17th century. The book contains ethnolinguistic notes, historical details and the translation into Italian of the full version of the kikongo grammar the Father wrote in 1659 in Latin. The book has been published in Portuguese in 2006 and in Italian in 2007. |
