Abstract: The study outlines the story of Thomas Coryate’s last and fatal voyage to India through a comprehensive analysis of his letters and other writings come down to us in fragmentary form. An extensive anthology of passages in translation, mainly from his letters, gives voice to the protagonist and helps reconstruct the main steps of the Odcombian legge-stretcher’s extraordinary enterprise.
