This work deals with the escape of the King of Poland Henry of Valois France in order to reach at the death of his brother Charles IX, whose he was the successor as established by their mother, then regent to the throne, Catherine de 'Medici. The daring escape of the king is narrated by the writer Nicholas Lucangeli that tells us the passage of the king himself in Vienna and especially in several Italian cities including Venice and its celebrations in honor of Henry. A detailed chronicle also useful to detect the political attitudes of the Venetian Republic towards the catholic France and the way to prepare celebrations in the Italian Renaissance cities.
